Fireproof - "Never leave your partner behind"

As you can imagine we love watching movies, they are a huge inspiration for what we do and the cinematic experience we offer our clients.  We enjoy quite a variety of movies, each for different reasons.  There is a movie that we are particularly interested in going to go see, Fireproof.  It probably won't be a blockbuster, or even be carried in every movie theater, but the subject is one we are very passionate about, marriage.  In our line of work, producing wedding movies, we witness couples say their vows before God, friends, and family every weekend, knowing that statistically 50% of them will end up in divorce.  I say statistically because it doesn't have to happen, not if you fight for your marriage, or make it "Fireproof". 

Years after the dream wedding will come life and all of it's challenges. It is great to see a movie dedicated to the subject of preserving marriages.  We like to think that we are in the business of preserving marriages.  Not only do we preserve their vows, but we provide them the ability to go back in time and relive their love for each other.

Fireproof opened today, be sure to add it to your must see list.  Below are some links including the trailer for the movie.  I have not seen it yet so I can't give my personal review, but after watching the trailer it is definitely something that we will be going to see.  After you go and see it be sure to go home and watch your wedding movie again and relive your love for each other.

Here's to Moms - Happy Mother's Day!

If you haven't seen this on You Tube.....where have you been. Okay maybe you spend a little less time on the internet than me.  This is the great summary of all the oh so familiar words we heard growing up and  may have even found yourself using today with your own kids.  One of Ethan's first videos was done to the William Tell Overture, it is very fitting to the pace and life of being a mother.

So here's to all the mothers out there who are over worked, underpaid, and under appreciated.  Mom thank you for giving me that entrepreneurial inspiration to go after my dream.  I still remember our long "business" phone call where I gave you my entire business plan over the phone and when I was all done hashing it all out, you said "go for it, I don't see why not", which meant a lot coming from a realist like yourself.  Now here we are 8 years later and have never looked back.  Thank you for your encouragement and instilling in me that indeed "we can do all things though Christ who strengthens us". (Philippians 4:13)

And of course how can I forget the mother of my children.....this is starting to sound like the Oscars.  Well honey thank you for being the best partner a man could ever ask for in this journey.  I don't know how you do it, running a home, a business, a family, and volunteering like you do.  Many people do a lot of things, but very few find the balance like you do.  Thank you for being my best friend and raising the best kids in the world.  I love you! -Aaron

Become Legendary

Ok, I have to admit, I have been a Michael Jordan fan since way back in the day when it was uncool to like Michael Jordan or the Bulls.  When all the talk was about those Bad Boys, the Pistons.  I always wanted to dunk like him.  It always looked better in my head and was on an 8 ft rim :-)

Since we are inspired by the world around us, we will from time to time post an inspirational clip that grabbed our attention.  I love what is said by this commercial, it is easy to think that someone we look up to just got there or somehow it came easy.  There is no substitution for hard work.  For all those other MJ fans out there, enjoy this walk down memory lane.

Video Featured on Design Aglow Blog

If you are part of the photography world you have most likely heard of Design Aglow and their many enhancements for photographers.  I used some of these templates in my promotional video for Sara Anthony Photography, which was recently featured on their blog.  These templates are not just limited to photography, and worked great for video as well.  I am looking forward to future uses of these templates.

Happy 2008!  Renee' & I are looking forward to a great 2008.  With a baby on the way this June there is plenty of excitement in store.  Our wedding calendar is starting to fill up and we look forward to another busy year again this year.

We were reminded again this week when we received our 4th inquiry, that we had to turn away due to June and July filling up, if you are getting married in 2008 give us a call as soon as possible to be sure that we can hold your wedding date.

2008 has more blogging in store, with nearly 11,000 page views and our posted videos watched 7,600 times, we look forward to sharing more of your great videos and hope to be able to create some of our own to share as well.

Happy 4th of July!

Isn't You Tube great.  It is a perfect example of our freedom.  Freedom of the press and freedom of speech put in the hands of the people.  I came across this video on You Tube and it was very fitting for this fourth of July.  As you enjoy your fireworks and all the festivities, remember what a great country it is that we live in.  God Bless America!

Why We Do What We Do

Why we do what we do.... yes we get to be a part of one of the happiest days of a couples' life, yes we get to attend some amazing wedding receptions each weekend, and yes we get to create a wedding movie that will be watched again and again for generations to come.  Along with all of that we hear back from couples who understand the power of video and appreciate the investment they put into their wedding video. We recently read a survey that revealed that 98% of surveyed newlyweds recommend that brides have their weddings video taped. Prior to their wedding only 50% of them even considered it on their top 10 list for their wedding. This statistic shows that most couples don't appreciate the true importance of their wedding video until after their wedding. In your planning for one of the most significant days of your life, give careful thought how you will preserve the events and memories of that day.

YOU GUYS ROCK!!! We don't even know how to start to thank you for all the hard work you put into our wedding video. You were able to capture every precious moment of our day! We worked so hard on all the details and you recorded every single one. Story is Key

I got the chance to watch "Facing the Giants" last night, yes I am a little behind in my movie watching. I have to admit I was a little skeptical and wasn't sure what to expect with a $100,000 movie budget. Besides being a movie about football, which is always a plus with me, this movie was also very inspriational. You walk away encouraged to "never give up", "never back down", "never lose faith", and that "with God, all things are possible".

Being a video producer and video story teller I am always looking for inspriation and new ideas in movies and everything around me. Whether it is a camera angle, tempo, or just a new look, I come out of a movie with something new. I have seen many $100 million hollywood productions that are pretty amazing but lack a good story. This movie reminded me how important the story is. There are many aspects to a good movie but the story is key.

How do I relate this to what we do? As we capture a wedding day we are doing more than capturing beautiful images, but we are telling the story of one of the most important days in a couples life. This is something that we take very seriously and take great pride in.

When looking into having your wedding day captured through photography or videography seek out a great story teller who will tell the story of your day in a way that you will enjoy reliving it again and again and enjoy sharing it with your friends and family.

So remember story is key and "never give up" when facing your giants.
