They Grow Up So Fast!

Beautiful Talia was one of my favorite newborn sessions... she had such a sweet smile through our whole shoot!  I was so excited when her parents chose a Baby's First Year Collection... I will get to capture her all year long!  I can't believe how big she has gotten already... enjoy every minute mom and dad, they grow up so fast!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Business or Pleasure?

That is the question this week...and the answer is "yes".  Aaron & I will be heading down to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic to photograph and film a wedding...no I didn't complain...or give it too much consideration.  Needless to say we are pretty excited to shoot against this backdrop. Don't get me wrong we will be heading down a little early and staying a few days after to enjoy some time just the two of us & no kids...sure hope we don't get bored ;-)

 

What better way to come back from a beautiful trip than to come back to Grand Rapids to see our kids and visit family for Thanksgiving...plenty to be thankful for.

In case you are like me and you hear any place outside of the United States you have to Google it, Punta Cana is in the Caribbean South West of Florida.  Good thing for Google Maps so I know where we are headed.

 

We will be back in the studio Tuesday, December 1st....wow! next up Christmas...what a great time of the year :-)

A Pleasant Surprise...

Although we had an unseasonably cool summer and our Fall started off with quite a bit of rain... the warmth we have experienced lately has been such a pleasant surprise!  This session was just perfect, the temperature, the golden sunlight, and the loving and fun family all made a great evening for me!  Enjoy your sneak peak T Family!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Inspiration meets Cuteness

One day I spotted an old school desk in my best friend's garage... my mind instantly imagined the school desk painted red and then perfectly placed in an open field... with an adorable little girl sitting on it....  I was so excited about my idea and when she told me to do whatever I wanted with it, I was pretty pumped.  Around that same time, Vivi's mom had been emailing about scheduling a session.  When she showed me the cute skirt she was buying from an Etsy seller, BobbityBoo, I knew instantly she would love the desk idea and I was so pleased with how the pictures turned out!

I am also a big fan of balloons and the childlike emotion they evoke...

The Schultz Fam

The Schultzs are another family I get to photograph year after year and I love them!  They are very full of life!  Emma and Nate kept me on my toes!  They are a terrific family and I really admire the cute mom... Stacy, she is a pretty remarkable woman.  Not only is she really cute and could hardly pass for a mother of one let alone 2!... she is a gifted Physical Therapist, and the wonderful and very appreciated MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) Coordinator.  She juggles many, many roles and responsibilities with such  grace and ease!  Thank you Schultzs for allowing me to once again capture the love in your sweet family!  Enjoy your sneak peak!

this next series is so cute... I always like to grab a couple of mom and dad... it seems like we just never get our pictures together after being married awhile and so I love to capture that connection... I told them to just lean in and pretend I am not there... good start... 

and then, go ahead an kiss if you want...  how awkward, right?!  I mean, we did that for all our wedding pictures... but somehow it gets really awkward the older we get... I know... Aaron and I are terrible at this... well, this next picture is sooo cute of Ryan, I am sure he will want to kill me for it, but I couldn't resist!

Another beautiful family

I have been under the weather for the last few days...  but editing this family's photos year after year always puts a smile on my face.  They are the sweetest family, their quiet and peaceful demeanor just radiates with mutual affection and adoration.  I am so blessed they would choose me year after year to capture their growing family and their priceless moments.  Enjoy your sneak peak and thank you!

 

 

 

 

a little emotional...

so... I have always been told I am emotional... I used to become defensive and argue that I was not... but the older I get, the more I am embracing that I am a little emotional... I cry easily.  Many things move me, a mother's gentleness with her children, the joy in boys running across a field, a group hug...  I have to admit, these photos got me a little teary-eyed... perhaps because they remind me of my boys... and their intense love for their sisters...
