We have had some gorgeous weather lately and this evening was perfect for a photo shoot! Kelsey was so easy going and I love her fresh face and youthfulness. I have commented more than once lately that I am not sure how I feel about taking pictures of such young and beautiful girls... I look in the mirror afterwards and am all of a sudden very aware that I am not 17 anymore :) practically double.... double?! their age... wow. Well, enough about me, here is the beautiful Kelsey...
Last week, Scott and Lindsay were married! It was a beautiful day full of many emotions, for them and for me! It began with a forecast that for an outdoor wedding was downright frightening! Thunderstorms were said to roll in right around the beginning of the wedding... but the weather people were wrong... thank God! Instead, we had a beautiful evening perfect for a wedding and for pictures!
When Lindsay asked me last year if I would do her wedding, fear gripped me and I took a while to respond... knowing I would regret passing up this opportunity, I agreed. For the past year I have been quite nervous about it but have had the chance to get a little practice with Star and Jason's wedding and second shooting for my amazing sister-in-law this April. Still, I was not quite sure what to think but as the day finally arrived, my courage increased. And I am so blessed to report that God gave me everything I needed to do this and I had a wonderful time! My friends on Facebook encouraged me and one reminded me that there is so much to capture in a wedding, so much beauty, love, emotion... and she was so right. I was quickly wrapped up in all of the joy, laughter, and radiance of the day, that I soon forgot my fears and snapped away... here are some of the favorites that we, my awesome and tremendously talented husband, Aaron, got from Lindsay and Scott's Big Day. It has been such a privilege to watch the Elford Family grow... we have had many fun sessions together, and this was no exception! Sweet Jaden was so cute to watch going from one thing to the next... busy, busy! And Ashlyn is Miss Personality and full of many expressions! We had a great time enjoying Dow Gardens and the new and improved Children's Garden that also has a whole bubble table now! Fun, fun, fun!

The gift of a child is a remarkable thing and I am so happy Charlotte and Colin have a little baby blessing headed their way. Charlotte you just glow with joy!

My beautiful, sweet, sweet Lauren... is ONE. I really cannot believe how fast this past year flew!! Lauren is such a good baby. She likes to be held... but is very content otherwise! She just sits back and takes in all the activity around her. It was only yesterday that she began crawling!! I haven't minded her laid back nature one bit. She is a joy and we all adore her... it is so sweet to see how the kids fight over who gets to go in her room to get her when she wakes up. She certainly is the center of our little home and we are so excited to celebrate her One Year birthday! We love you little Lauren and are excited to see how God is going to use you for His purposes and His glory. Happy birthday.

Matt and Amanda are an amazing young couple! Week after week they serve in our Children's Department at our church... I fell in love with sweet Amanda a few years back when I would help in The Fillin' Station (Elem Age Church)... the way she would get the kids to sing was impressive. She herself has a beautiful voice and an infectious enthusiasm. Amanda also helped me out quite a bit with my kids a couple of years ago. She was the one I called when I needed last minute childcare... she always came through and joyfully at that. It was with great pleasure, I got to take these pictures for them. I am sooo excited to share what we captured, their sweet Jeremiah is adorable and joyful and that hair cracks me up! I am so happy you get to enjoy your own sweet baby, your love and adoration for him is obvious. You two are such a blessing to so many... be blessed today. Love you.

Jordan, my sweet, sensitive, creative Jordan... I can hardly believe you will already be seven in two weeks.... have a wonderful birthday my sweetheart. I am so glad we get to capture your uniqueness in so many ways... Aaron and I were thrilled with the art theme Jordan wanted for his birthday this year and had so much fun doing his shoots... enjoy and be inspired.

I am so excited with the way that Jordan's video turned out. I have to say I had my doubts at first, but with Renee's brilliant idea and an amazingly cute boy who loves to ham it up for the camera, we have success! Jordan's movie was also inspired by the movie "August Rush", which is fitting since music is another one of Jordan's passions. In the words of Jordan, "this is AWESOME!"...I couldn't agree more.
Jordan, you are truly one unique kid, to quote your grandpa Deckrow, "I am not sure what makes you tick". Like you have said many times, Jesus has a big plan for my life, all I have to do is ask him what it is and he will show me. Well, I can't wait to see all that He has in store for you my little buddy, and I am excited to be a part of that journey with you. Your humility and love for life is evident. You are definitely one of a kind...and you rock! Thanks for producing your movie with me, you definitely had A LOT of input. You are the coolest 7 year old around. Happy Birthday "Jordan Picasso". and after all that, Jordan was exhausted... but this day got a "This was the BEST DAY EVER" proclamation from Jordan.... we love you so much buddy!
Dawn is expecting a third BOY very soon! Once again, I loved the opportunity to preserve this beautiful time in her life. Enjoy!
