New Beginnings....

A few months ago I received an email from my amazing, strong, and talented friend Sarah asking if I would possibly be available on August 15... I practically jumped out of my chair with joy and excitement!!!  Was I ever?!!  I wouldn't have passed up this opportunity for the world to capture my friend's new beginning.  You see my friend Sarah is quite possibly the strongest woman I know... she is someone who has inspired me, given me hope, and brought me to tears over and over again as I have prayed for her and her kids as they have struggled to start a new life after losing their dad and husband a couple of years ago.  Sarah has gracioulsy invited us all along on her journey of healing through her blog.  I have read it so many times and sat there in awe of God's faithfulness and that His grace is indeed sufficient.  He has restored to Sarah her joy.  I am so grateful God brought Jim and his beautiful family into their lives!  On their wedding day she was beeming!  It was an absolutely perfect day and the emotions of love and joy were abounding!  Sarah and Jim... and Hrabal family, congratulations and may God bless you and pour out His love on you all!!

 

 

 

 

 

Jim is a farmer and we got to stop by one of his fields to take some pictures... he taught me a little something about black beans that I had not known... it was very cool!  Their reception was at their new home.  There were so many amazing details that made it so meaningful and beautiful!

Living our dreams...

Aaron and I are truly living our dreams... shooting alongside one another has been our dream since we began our videography business 9 years ago.  With my love for photography and Aaron's passion for video we have had many coffee chats about how one day we would shoot weddings together and both do what we love.  Until now, I have been Aaron's second shooter for video and he has been mine for photography.  Tianna and Will put a lot of confidence in us to capture their beautiful day in motion and in stills and we loved the opportunity to do it together for the first time!  Not only did Aaron and I get to shoot together, Amanda and Sara also made it possible and we are so grateful to them both!  Here is my sneak peek to their gorgeous day:

Scott & Lindsay's Big Day

Last week, Scott and Lindsay were married!  It was a beautiful day full of many emotions, for them and for me!  It began with a forecast that for an outdoor wedding was downright frightening!  Thunderstorms were said to roll in right around the beginning of the wedding... but the weather people were wrong... thank God!  Instead, we had a beautiful evening perfect for a wedding and for pictures! 

When Lindsay asked me last year if I would do her wedding, fear gripped me and I took a while to respond... knowing I would regret passing up this opportunity, I agreed.  For the past year I have been quite nervous about it but have had the chance to get a little practice with Star and Jason's wedding and second shooting for my amazing sister-in-law this April.  Still, I was not quite sure what to think but as the day finally arrived, my courage increased.  And I am so blessed to report that God gave me everything I needed to do this and I had a wonderful time!  My friends on Facebook encouraged me and one reminded me that there is so much to capture in a wedding, so much beauty, love, emotion... and she was so right.  I was quickly wrapped up in all of the joy, laughter, and radiance of the day, that I soon forgot my fears and snapped away... here are some of the favorites that we, my awesome and tremendously talented husband, Aaron, got from Lindsay and Scott's Big Day.  Enjoy!

discovery...

life is so interesting and full of surprises... it was less than two years ago that I finally decided to put aside my fears and pursue photography professionally.  Since making that decision, it has amazed me how much joy I receive from being there in family's most sacred moments...and getting to preserve it...  the newest discovery I have had, is that I LOVE weddings...  I was so scared to do them... but I am really, really glad that I have once again put that aside and gone for it.  When Sara (my amazing photographer sister) asked if I wanted to second shoot for her wedding, I was THRILLED.  We had a blast working together!  This couple was sooo fun, their family was so warm and welcoming, and it was an awesome time!!

A First...

Today... I did my first wedding!!  And... I LOVED it!!  It may have been the warm place in my heart that my friend Star holds, or maybe it was the ultra cuteness of Ju-Ju in a flower girl dress, or perhaps it was the unbelievable gentleness of a brother with his sister, or maybe it was the beginning of a beautiful new family who I love so much...  I am sure it was every one of those things!  Star and Jason had a small, intimate wedding and I feel really blessed that I was there to not only capture it, but to be a part of one of the most important days in their lives...  May God bless you and May His love, grace, and joy overflow in your home!
